It’s a big difference from past Super Bowls in New Orleans, but fans say they appreciate it.

The Louisiana State Police for years have used excessive force during arrests and vehicle pursuits. That's according to a scathing report released Thursday by the U.S. Justice Department that found a pattern of misconduct placing the public at “serious risk of harm.”

Louisiana State Police bought a small passenger plane for $5.5 million, and Gov. Jeff Landry has been using it to travel around the state.

The judge's decision leaves unhoused residents vulnerable to future state-led crackdowns on encampments, attorneys argued.
