Barbara Clark
Development DirectorRaised in the animated city of New Orleans, Barbara traveled upriver to attend LSU, graduating from the university with degrees in Psychology and Anthropology.
She worked in business development for WAFB-TV and the Baton Rouge Business Report for 15 years before joining WRKF in 2010.
Barbara and her husband took two years in the middle of their lives to roll across America in a refurbished motorhome, venturing all the way to Alaska. They have since settled in suburban Baton Rouge to raise their two children and three dogs.

It is with heavy heart that WRKF announces the passing of our beloved host, Brian Pope, who succumbed to cardiac arrest on Aug. 23, 2024, the eve of his 75th birthday. Brian had hosted and produced "Center Stage," a show about musical theater on WRKF since 1999.

Martin Baron, former executive editor of The Washington Post, will speak at noon at the luncheon at Crowne Plaza Baton Rouge on Friday, September 27. Newsrooms under Marty’s leadership have won 18 Pulitzer Prizes. including the Boston Globe, whose coverage of the Catholic Church sex abuse scandal was portrayed years later in the movie, “Spotlight.” Jim Engster will receive this year’s Founders Award, and Jenni Peters will receive the Community Catalyst Award.

The Southeast Regional Folk Alliance (SERFA) presented WRKF Public Radio's Taylor Caffery the Kari Estrin Founding President's Award for outstanding contributions to folk music and culture last week, at its annual music industry conference.

NPR national correspondent Debbie Elliott: “Stories, Secrets and Scoundrels of the South.” Eric DeWeese will be recognized as a WRKF Founder, and Robyn Merrick will receive the inaugural Community Catalyst award.
