Meet the people behind WRKF and connect with fellow listeners at the Main Library at Goodwood.
Join us Tuesday, August 18, from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. for refreshments, conversation and a chance to connect with the WRKF community.
WRKF General Manager Paul Maassen, News Director Ryan Vasquez, Capitol Access reporter Brooke Thorington, Report for America corps member Alex Cox, and other members of the WRKF team will be there. Whether you’re a longtime listener, a new listener, or simply curious about WRKF, all are welcome.
Following the meetup, Ryan will lead a discussion on storytelling in journalism as part of the East Baton Rouge Parish Library’s inaugural Storytelling @ Your Library program. According to the Library, the series will explore journalism, podcasting, and techniques for telling stories that connect with listeners, while introducing participants to audio equipment and editing software available through the library.
