Republican Gov. Jeff Landry signed an executive order Thursday that directs state agencies to change all references to the Gulf of Mexico in Louisiana laws and other documents to the “Gulf of America.”

Texas, which is leading the states, filed a lawsuit in federal court in the Southern District of Texas. State Attorney General Greg Abbott said the president's action "tramples" the Constitution.
