The ordinance, passed last night, will levy a $500 fine for first-time drag racing offenders and a $1,000 fine for subsequent offences.

The marker commemorates the 105-mile march activists undertook from Bogalusa to Baton Rouge in August of 1967, which A.Z. Young helped organize.
