1. Peru Summit

Carolyn Jack has the latest on efforts to resolve the ongoing hostage situation in Lima, Peru. Peruvian President Alberto Fujimori is in Washington. He'll meet with U.S. Secretary of State Madeleine Albright tomorrow. Yesterday, Fujimori met with Japanese Prime Minister Ryutaro Hashimoto in Toronto. The two leaders decided to renew efforts to negotiate with terrorists holding 72 hostages in the Japanese Ambassador's residence. But, President Fujimori made clear he will not budge on the rebel's key demand to release jailed guerillas.
