The Regional Transit Authority (RTA) will begin reducing the frequency of buses, streetcars and ferries to help minimize the community spread of COVID-19, according to a press release.

The changes are as follows:

Buses and streetcars

Monday through Friday, fixed-route buses and streetcars will operate on a Saturday schedule.

Weekend service remains unchanged.

Paratransit services

Paratransit services will continue to operate as normal.

RTA will be “prioritizing reservations with life-sustaining reservations taking precedence.” The authority is asking riders to limit the number of trips for recreation.

Ferries

The Algiers Point/Canal Street Ferry will operate seven days a week, 6 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.

The Chalmette Ferry schedule will remain on the usual schedule.

Schedules and details can be found .
