The number of known COVID-19 cases in Louisiana grew by 1.35 percent from Monday to Tuesday — the smallest amount of growth since the first cases were reported in early March.
The Louisiana Department of Health (LDH) reported another 331 cases today, for a total of 24,854.
Day-to-day growth has stayed below 3 percent since April 12 and has dipped below 2 percent twice in three days.
April 12: 2.9 percent
April 13: 2.04 percent
April 14: 2.39 percent
April 15: 2.01 percent
April 16: 2.65 percent
April 17: 2.6 percent
April 18: 2 percent
April 19: 1.48 percent
April 20: 2.49 percent
April 21: 1.35 percent
A note on the LDH dashboard says the department is "conducting a comprehensive review" of the number of commercial tests completed, but that it does not affect the number of positive cases. As currently reported, the number of reported completed commercial tests is 144,259.
State labs have completed 6,578 tests. This number is not under review.
Another 77 people in Louisiana were reported to have died of COVID-19 in the last 24 hours. The death toll in the state is now 1,405 people.

Hospitalizations increased by just four today, for a total of 1,798 people in hospitals with COVID-19. Of them, 297 are on ventilators. That's 35 fewer than yesterday.
