Why Give? 88% of WRKF’s operating budget comes from the community through donations from individual members and sponsorship from local businesses. When you become a member of WRKF, you are helping to create a space to discover civil conversations, various points of view, and factual reporting for you and your community.

Does WRKF receive support from the Federal Government? About 10% of WRKFs operating budget comes from a Community Service Grant provided by the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB).  CPB is funded by the Federal Government.

How does WRKF spend revenue?

What is Sustaining Membership? Sustaining Membership is an ongoing monthly giving plan that keeps your membership current and helps WRKF plan for the future. You can become a sustaining member for as little as $5 per month, and you can make changes to your membership at any time.  Sustaining members are automatically entered into all WRKF drawings.

I’m a WRKF Sustaining Member and was contacted to update my payment information. How should I reply? Please call Member Services at (225) 926-3050 during business hours (Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.). To protect the security of your information, please do not send your card number by email.

I am a Sustaining Member and I would like to change my payment method from credit card to electonic funds transfer from my checking account.  What do I do?  You can mail a voided check with a note to WRKF at 3050 Valley Creek Drive, Baton Rouge, LA 70808, or call call Member Services at (225) 926-3050 during business hours (Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.) with your checking account and routing numbers (nine digits). 

I’d like to change the monthly amount I have been giving.  You can update your sustaining membership at any time.  Please call Member Services at (225) 926-3050 during business hours (Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.) or email marlene@wrkf.org.  If you use the email option, you will receive a message back from us letting you know that we have fulfilled your request.

As a Sustaining Member, am I eligible for thank you gifts? Yes, you may request a thank you gift that corresponds with your giving level once per year.  To request your thank you gift, contact Membership Manager, Gwen Palagi at gwen@wrkf.org or 225-926-3050 extension 18. 

I’d like to make a one-time contribution in addition to my monthly giving. Thank you for your generous support! Please use the online gift form to give a one-time gift or call Member Services at (225) 926-3050 during business hours (Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.)

You can stop your monthly giving at any time by calling Member Services at (225) 926-3050 during business hours (Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.).  You may also email marlene@wrkf.org. If you use the email option, you will receive a message back from us letting you know that we have fulfilled your request.

Is my contribution Tax-Deductible? WRKF is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and your contribution is tax-deductible to the fullest extent of the law. In January, WRKF will send you written confirmation of your contribution(s) during the previous calendar year. Please consult your tax advisor or attorney for information about specific situations.
