While State Sens. Karen Carter Peterson and Troy Carter largely agreed with each other during Louisiana Considered’s 30-minute debate Friday, the two Democrats also offered differing views on a couple of key topics, including health care, the minimum wage and whether they’d support a boycott of Louisiana events if the state legislature passed restrictive voting measures. There were also several testy exchanges between the candidates over some of the recent campaign rhetoric and advertisements.

The debate, which aired on WWNO and WRKF in partnership with The Times-Picayune | The Advocate, is the first of three scheduled debates for the 2nd Congressional District seat.

The program was hosted by WWNO/WRKF News Director Patrick Madden and moderated by Stephanie Grace and Will Sutton of The Times-Picayune | The Advocate.
