After Hurricane Ida hit New Orleans and southeast Louisiana as a Category 4 storm, it left behind significant damage and downed trees and power lines that caused mass power outages.

Some citizens and city council members felt Entergy New Orleans mishandled power grid recovery following Hurricane Ida. Power outages were indirectly involved in 11 post-storm deaths.
