Friday was Arbor Day in Louisiana, when we show our appreciation for trees by planting them.

Trees are especially important in urban areas, absorbing heat, reducing air pollution, and cutting utility bills -- and that's just for starters.

Hurray for trees!

He is the spokesperson for the LSU AgCenter’s "Get It Growing project," an effort encouraging home horticulture throughout Louisiana. Dan is also author of "Month-by-Month Gardening in Louisiana" and co-author of the "Louisiana Gardener’s Guide."
