Louisiana Book Festival: Saturday, November 2, 2019, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.  Stop by the WRKF table to get your bookmark with a recommended reading list from NPR staffers like Ari Shapiro, Lulu Garcia Navarro, and Susan Stamberg. 

Cap City Beer Fest: Sunday, November 3, 2019, at North Blvd and Lafayette St., Downtown Baton Rouge, 1 to 4 p.m.  A fundraiser for Companion Animal Alliance.  Stop by the WRKF table for a "WRKF Smart Dog" bandana for your best friend.

NPR political correspondent Mara Liasson shared her view from Washington with 540 WRKF supporters Sept. 13, 2019 at the Crowne Plaza Baton Rouge. 

Mary Ann Sternberg was recognized for her service to WRKF. A long-standing supporter of WRKF, Sternberg represented station members during her two terms on its board of directors. She is a longtime fr eelance writer and nonfiction author, specializing in Louisiana history and culture.
