Hard Rock Hotel

Recovery of the remains of two workers killed in the collapse of the Hard Rock Hotel construction site last October could begin at the end of this week or early next week, New Orleans Fire Department Superintendent Tim McConnell said at a press conference Monday afternoon.

More than five months after the catastrophic collapse of the Hard Rock Hotel in New Orleans, demolition of the badly damaged site finally appears imminent.

According to his lawyers, Joel Ramirez Palma was on the thirteenth floor of the Hard Rock Hotel building when it began to fall. He survived by jumping down into the floors below him as the concrete and steel collapsed overhead. Ramirez Palma was one of many injured. Three of his coworkers died.
