Several dozen people gathered to protest the killing of George Floyd and other black Americans at Claiborne and Esplanade avenues in New Orleans. May 29, 2020.

The news cycle continues to expose how America contends with racism: racial disparity in COVID-19 infections and deaths, the murder of Ahmed Aubrey, the police killings of George Floyd and Breonna Taylor, the protests, the president’s tweets, and the weaponization of white womanhood.

Hosts Kai Wright and Brian Lehrer will explore these issues with you and special guests, including Angela Davis from Minnesota Public Radio and Tanzina Vega from The Takeaway.

Listen to 89.3 WRKF on Monday, June 1 at 7pm for "America: Are We Ready: A National Call-In about Racism, Violence, and our Future Together," a two-hour live national conversation about racism and the election. Listeners can call 844-745-8255 during the program to share.
