Tens of thousands of households in Louisiana can’t afford their rent as a result of the coronavirus pandemic, according to newly released data, and the worst-hit region is Orleans Parish.

Nearly 30,000 households are at risk of eviction, facing a rental shortfall of an average $680. To learn more, reporter Rosemary Westwood spoke with Jessica Kemp, the vice president of the Center for Planning Excellence, a Louisiana nonprofit that focuses on regional planning.
