A second worker has been found dead after an oil servicing ship capsized Tuesday in the Gulf of Mexico. Six people have been rescued, two bodies have been retrieved, and 11 people remain missing.

A Coast Guard press release said the body was found in the water, not on the ship, by a helicopter crew on Thursday night. The worker’s name has not been released.

Divers continued search and rescue efforts Friday, though they had to take a break for stormy weather mid-morning. Families of the missing hope that they are alive inside.

On Thursday, divers reached the mostly-sunken ship and knocked on the hull with a hammer but did not hear any response.

The offshore oil servicing ship Seacor Power capsized during a storm on Tuesday night, 8 miles off the coast of Port Fourchon. Six people were rescued and one person died.

Rescue efforts have been hampered by stormy conditions. Coast Guard crews have searched more than 6,000 square miles of the Gulf for survivors.

While search efforts continue, the incident has been declared a major marine casualty and is under investigation by the Coast Guard and National Transportation Safety Board.

This is a developing story and will be updated.
