Bike-Only in Baton Rouge

Ideas for making transportation infrastructure more bike-friendly are up for discussion at the annual Louisiana Smart Growth Summit downtown this week.

Wednesday, Nov. 28, Baton Rouge Advocates for Safe Streets will give some officials, planning experts, and citizens at the summit a taste of what it’s like to get around the capitol city by bike now.

Mark Martin, who founded the bike advocacy group in 2006, navigates his daily routine here with only two wheels.

Landrieu Seeks Progress on Farm, Transportation, Pay Equity Bills

With Louisiana Sen. Mary Landrieu's vote, the Senate decided Thursday to move ahead with debate on the reauthorization of the farm bill.Meanwhile, two other significant pieces of legislation that the senior senator backs have stalled.

WRKF's Amy Jeffries caught up with Sen. Landrieu about the progress of the farm bill and the stalemate around the Transportation and Paycheck Fairness bills.
