John Gibby

MakerMember

Gibby is a MakerMember, meaning he donates his skills in to the WRKF newsroom to help create compelling interactive news content for WRKF.org.

Gibby is a web strategy and application developer with skills in the development, maintenance, programming and coding of websites, mobile websites and mobile apps. Gibby is a graduate of the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, earning his BFA in Graphic Design.

Along with his degree, Gibby has focused on continuing education focused on User Interface and User Experience design as well as full stack Application Development. This gives him a unique perspective in the digital landscape and places him at the forefront of bridging traditional advertising design with contemporary digital media.

In addition to becoming a regional leader in web development, Gibby is an accomplished artist with his work being shown across the state of Louisiana. Not limited to showing art, he has also become an accomplished curator through running the international exhibit The Great Oil Leak Poster Project which received and displayed entries from artists around the world.

In recognition of his unique talents, Gibby has been featured in various regional media including 225, Baton Rouge Business Report, WAFB and WBRZ as well as winning at least one ADDY award in each year dating back to 2009.
