Born in Lewiston, Maine, May 22, 1923. B.A. and M.A. from Syracuse University. Since 1950 career has been in broadcast radio as a general manager, program director, and air personality. First met with the founding group of WRKF in the fall of 1976. President of WRKF October, 1978 to October, 1980. On the air on WRKF from its beginning in January, 1980 to the present. Founder or co-founder of ten non-profit organizations including the Vermont Broadcasters Association and here in Baton Rouge, O'Brien House, the "I Care" program and Lagniappe Studies Unlimited, a "Learning in Retirement" program sponsored by the LSU Department of Continuing Education for whom he has taught 12 different courses dealing with American music. Served as president of several

other local organizations including Operation Upgrade, the Capital Area Literacy Coalition, and the LSU Track and Field Officials Association. Is a USA Track and Field official certified at the Master Level in all nine field events and as Field Events Referee. Member of the LSU Track and Field Officials "Hall of Fame." Awards include Volunteers of America "Unsung Hero," J.C. Penny "Golden Rule Award," and the Boy Scouts of America "Silver Beaver." Has been an active Boy Scout and scouter for 70 years. Active volunteer in numerous local public service groups such as the Baton Rouge Concert Band. After-dinner speaker on a variety of subjects.
