Constance Navratil is a graduate of Trinity College of Music, London, and an LSU alumna with a Master's degree in voice, she has performed on the orchestral and operatic stage both here and abroad, including appearances locally with the Baton Rouge Symphony, the Louisiana Sinfonietta, the Louisiana Philharmonic in New Orleans, and leading roles with the Baton Rouge Opera, Jerome Mines' "I Am the Way", the Baton Rouge Little Theatre, LSU Summer Dinner Theatre and the G&S Society. And she has, for a number of years, directed the major musicals of Baton Rouge Magnet High School's Choral Department. She was the Program Director of WRKF Public Radio at its inception and for years prepared an annual Program for the Schools, broadcast

throughout the EBR School system, as well as originating and recording the Baton Rouge Symphony Discovery Concerts for the schools. She was awarded the Key to the City for her work in promoting music in the community and in 2001 was presented with the Mayor-President's Award for Excellence in the Arts. Her program "LSU School of Music Presents" on Sunday evenings is an on-going contact during the academic year with the University and the general public. In addition, her popular Music Appreciation programs are offered through the LSU Lagniappe series. The LSU School of Music Presents
The Louisiana State University Concert and Recital Series is worth taking note of! Throughout the year, outstanding programs are given at the School of Music Recital Hall and LSU Union by faculty, students and visiting artists. From this great variety, Constance Navratil selects for broadcasts of eclectic one-hour concert each Sunday evening at 8 pm during the academic year. This unique program was begun in 1994 and stands as an important link between Public Radio in Baton Rouge and Academia.
