Pinnacle Entertainment says its new, unnamed Baton Rouge casino will open later than expected.

The $357 million casino resort on River Road will open in early 2012, rather than this December. Pinnacle says that is because of low water levels in the Mississippi River which are delaying the transportation of the hulls for the gambling barge.

According to the Baton Rouge Business Report, Pinnacle president and CEO, Anthony Sanfilippo, said Thursday that the construction crews are concentrating on land-based work.

Pinnacle says it spent $1.15 million in 2010 on pre-opening and development costs for the casino.
