A new poll of likely Louisiana voters shows Governor Bobby Jindal's approval rating on the decline.

The same Southern Media and Opinion Research poll has State Treasurer John Kennedy getting the highest job approval ratings of any statewide elected official.

Southern Media pollster Bernie Pinsonat says his November poll shows 55% approve of the Governor's performance, that's down 13 points from the previous rating. Meanwhile, Kennedy's rating sits at 61%.

Pinsonat says voters are concerned about the state's budget woes, and are responding to Kennedy's 16 point plan for streamlining government. "He's been moving across the state," Pinsonat says, "talking about his plan to solve the budget crisis and I think the public likes the idea of ‘at least he has a plan.'"

When asked Tuesday about his slipping approval ratings, Governor Jindal responded, "look, I don't focus on polls; I'm not concerned at all."

Jindal went on to say Louisiana faces a difficult time and will emerge from it a stronger state.
