Governor Bobby Jindal's newly released book, "Leadership and Crisis," and his weeklong tour to promote it have renewed speculation about his national political ambition. Jindal repeated Monday that his interests are solely in Louisiana. "Look, the only job I'm interested in," Jindal said, "is I'm running for re-election in the next year, I'll be spending 2011, part of 2011 running for re-election as governor of the great state of Louisiana. All those folks interested in national office will be in Iowa, New Hampshire, those other states."
According to his spokesperson, the governor left Sunday for New York and then will travel to California for stops to promote the book and to fundraise for his re-election campaign. Jindal is to return to Louisiana on Nov. 23rd
"Leadership and Crisis" went on sale nationally Monday.
The book is part autobiography and part conservative policy points. It charts the rise of the 39-year-old son of Indian immigrants to the Louisiana governor's office, but it doesn't venture into any discussion of whether Jindal has future national political ambitions.
