Hundreds of people attended a Sunday evening memorial for a mother and daughter shot in Beauregard Town early Friday morning.

42-year-old Alexandra Engler was killed and her 9-year-old daughter severely wounded when their home on Beauregard St was invaded.

The Beauregard Town Civic Association organized Sunday's event as a way to unify the community and city, according to the association's president.

Police have not made any arrests in the case, but say they are following leads. Anyone with information is asked to contact police or Crime Stoppers.

Crime Stoppers and St. Luke's Episcopal Church are offering rewards. Engler's daughter attended St. Luke's Episcopal Day School.
