Step teams will take to the stag at Southern University Saturday night. Step is a dance form long popular among historically black fraternities and sororities for decades. It has gotten mainstream attention in recent years with movies like Stomp Da Yard and Drumline. And now, Stepping has a very large corporate sponsor, the soft drink company Sprite.

Sprite is putting on what it bills as the largest national step competition in history, and this Saturday night the Sprite Step Off comes to Southern University. Ed Pratt is director of media relations for Southern. He joins WRKF's Saiward Pharr to give some details of the event.
